Optical lens: the next possible technology sector!

Release time: 2020-10-29 11:31

At present, the market is still in a bull market in technology.

Although many technology stocks are already at a high level and it is difficult to start, there are still some sectors at a low level that deserve attention.

Today, I will tell you about the optical lens sector.

The demand for cameras will increase in the future——

In terms of quantity: from single-camera to dual-camera to triple-camera to Huawei P30 Pro four-camera to P40 Pro five-camera.

Function: From a single pixel upgrade to the introduction of large aperture, ultra-wide angle, periscope telephoto, TOF and other special lenses.

What are the components of an optical lens?

Upstream of the camera industry chain: mainly include lenses, micro motors, circuit boards, image sensors, image signal processors, filters, brackets, etc.

Midstream: The manufacture of camera modules.

Downstream: smart phones, tablet computers, notebook computers, PCs, video conferencing, video surveillance, automotive, industrial, entertainment, medical and other application fields

From the value of the industrial chain:

CMOS sensor is the most valuable part of the camera industry chain, accounting for 52% of the overall market. Among them, there are three high-end sensor chips: Sony, Samsung and Weir shares (Howe)

Lens is the second most valuable industry in the camera industry chain, accounting for 20% of the overall market, with high technical barriers and high industry concentration. The first echelon includes Largan and Sunny Optical.

As a low-value-added industry in the camera industry chain, modules are labor-intensive and mainly concentrated in China.

Filters and motors are the two relatively low parts of the industrial value chain. Among them, the global leader in optical filters is Crystal Optoelectronics, and motors are mainly concentrated in Japan and South Korea.

At present, 3D sensing is a new innovation in optical lenses, and it is currently accelerating its penetration into low-end mobile phones.

There are three types of 3D sensing, namely binocular stereo imaging, structured light and TOF. The current more mature methods are structured light and TOF. Apple mainly uses structured light and Android uses TOF as its main solution.

From the perspective of shipments, TOF is predicted to begin to explode in 2020, and 3D sensing will account for more than 40% of the total
